Do you have 26 weeks to change your life? In Marcus Chacos’ book, “Self-Mastery Personal Empowerment for Creating the Life You Desire,” you are presented with 26 different exercise, lasting one week each. Once the exercise has been mastered at the end of the seven days, it is time to move on. If you are unable to accomplish the task, continue with it until you do—continue until you “own” the lesson.
It is a way to help yourself achieve disciplines that will lead you to a better way of life. The exercises are motivating and inspiring and focus on all aspects of your life—physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. In particular, it will help you become more proactive in the things you believe in and want to accomplish, rather than feeling as though you “react” to your life.

There are plenty of exercises to do for those of us who need concrete directions. The explanations are clear, and the description of the will and intuition are intriguing. There is a certain readiness needed by the person who works this book. This is not an easy process of "controlling emotion and thought," but it really has some great help for someone seeking to grow. This systematic approach allows you to build up strength upon strength with exponential results that cannot fail. We all have weaknesses, and one that most of us have trouble with is the discipline to follow through with commitment. This step-by-step guide helps you stick to the path and return to it should you falter and deviate, or even temporarily abandon.
Some of the simplest suggestions were amongst my most favourite "Drink water when you think you're hungry", and the most potent "The secret of forgiveness is that it isn't done for the benefit of the person you feel you need to forgive; but what you need to do for you".
I found this book to be inspiring and motivating, with practical exercises to reach your full potential and life satisfaction. There are 26 weeks of exercises, each to be mastered before moving on to the next level. The exercises take a holistic approach of balance with physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual development. The goal of the approach is to develop the mind and intuition, combined with will, in order to achieve one’s goals. This ultimately leads to greater happiness, success, health, and serenity.
The exercises had a good balance of ones that can be accomplished fairly easily to exercises that will challenge even the most focused and persistent. I found the week 5 forgiveness exercise challenging but well worth the effort. The goal setting exercise was very well done and inspired me to go beyond basic goal setting to more a more mindful, achievable approach. The positive mental attitude exercise in week 15 was excellent, and challenged me to see its importance.
I look forward to revisiting the exercises for reinforcing what I have learned and supporting ongoing self-mastery. This is a well-written and practical book for achieving your highest potential and life satisfaction.
